Common Solutions

Available Resources

The quality of media delivery is based largely on available bandwidth and system resources. For best playback, be sure to have a minimum of 500kbps download speed available and avoid other downloading activity. You can check your available bandwidth at the following third-party site.*

In addition to bandwidth, CPU resources are important to monitor. If your CPU is running at or above 75%, you may encounter choppy playback. To check your computer’s CPU usage, please do the following:

Windows:

On your keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Del. Then select "Task Manager". CPU usage is reported under the "Performance" tab.

Mac:

Open your Applications folder and choose the Utilities folder. Locate and open the Activity Monitor application. At the bottom of the screen CPU activity is reported.
To free up CPU resources, it may be necessary to close other applications or background services that are running at the same time as your web browser.

Anti-Virus Programs, Security Applications, and Filters

Some anti-virus applications or security features such as firewalls may block or prevent the timely delivery of media content. Temporarily disabling these features during playback may improve your experience while viewing video content.
