RELEASE: March 19, 2013
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: USEF Communications Department

Lexington, KY- The USEF is pleased to announce the Veterinary Panel as well as the Associate Veterinarians for the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team. The U.S. Eventing Team Veterinary Panel will play a vital role in the evaluation, selection and success of the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team on team trips and championships in the coming years. The Associate Veterinarians will help in supporting team efforts when necessary. The USEF would like to thank the outgoing panel of Dr. Brendan Furlong, Dr. Catherine Kohn and Dr. PJ McMahon for more than a decade of service to the program.

The U.S. Eventing Team Veterinary Panel is composed of:

Dr. Mark Revenaugh, Treating Veterinarian
Dr. Duncan Peters, Evaluating Veterinarian
Dr. Susan Johns, Associate Treating Veterinarian

Dr. Mark Revenaugh (Portland, OR) is renowned for his ability to diagnose and manage lameness and injury in sport horses.  He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Illinois’ College of Veterinary Medicine.  Since 1997, he has served as a Team Veterinarian or Assistant Team Veterinarian for multiple disciplines.  He is FEI accredited in show jumping, eventing, dressage and driving.  In 2002, he opened Northwest Equine Performance in Portland, Oregon, a veterinary practice specializing in unique and leading-edge treatment of lameness and other performance-related issues. Dr. Revenaugh will oversee the program, liaise with riders’ individual vets and travel to some of the team competitions.

Prior to his work at Michigan State, Dr. Peters started the Sport Horse Division at the Hagyard Equine Medial Institute in Lexington, Kentucky. He is also an active member of both the USEF Equine Drugs and Medications Committee and the USEF Veterinary Committee.
