 - March 12, 2013 - This Friday marks the final week of The Ridge at Wellington's 1.40m Grand Prix Invitational Series. Stakes are at an ultimate high as riders compete for the top prize of Leading Rider. The event has been a highlight of the equestrian season, with top professionals and amateurs alike attending the weekly event. Last week saw an increase in participants, challenging their young horses and enjoying the grass field at Mida Farm.

For the final week of the series, the event will be return Tops Field at Mida Farm. This is the last time for riders to show off their skills, challenge their mounts and experience the series for this season. Currently, the Leading Rider is Andres Rodriguez, holding onto a tight lead. Other competitors, such as McLain Ward, Darragh Kenny and Sarah Segal, are guaranteed to be putting forth their best efforts at this week's event to snatch away the title.

This is the only series that offers a weekly purse of $15,000 for Level II Jumpers, an unparalleled amount for a 1.40m competition. The series culminates with the Ridge at Wellington 1.40m Invitational Series Finale March 23, 2013. The purse at stake on that Saturday is $24,750-an unprecedented prize at the Level II Jumpers.

Although the finale is open to all Level II riders, it is recommended that riders take their turn at the course on Friday, March 15, at The Ridge at Wellington. The Friday event will run from 8 am to 5 pm. Riders are encouraged to get their entries in as soon as possible for the approaching Friday Grand Prix.
