Georgia, Texas A&M Top NCEA Preseason Coaches Poll

RELEASE: September 19, 2012
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: Andrew Minnick

Lexington, KY
- The season has yet to begin but there is already drama atop the NCEA coaches poll. Last year’s overall NCEA National Champion Texas A&M Aggies are deadlocked in the #1 position with the university of Georgia Bulldogs. They won’t be tied there for long though.

On September 30th the Aggies and Bulldogs will meet in the first ever official SEC Women’s Equestrian showdown. Equestrian was made an official SEC sport over the offseason and this matchup of powerhouses should be a good omen for the future of Equestrian in the conference, and as a college sport. The September 30th match will also be Texas A&M’s first as member of the SEC. The former big 12 school switched conferences over the summer. The quality of football in the conference motivated the move, but it is sure to add some excitement tho the NCEA season, and at the SEC Equestrian Championships in March.
