Wellington, FL
 - Danish International Grand Prix Show Jumper Henrik Gundersen is well known for his success in the jumper world, but now he will also be known for his great level of sportsmanship thanks to winning the Premier Equestrian Sportsmanship Award during the fifth week of the 2012 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival. Gundersen is also well known for being part of a powerhouse horse couple, as he is married to Danish dressage rider and trainer Mikala Gundersen.

Gundersen thanked Premier Equestrian for sponsoring the award and for recognizing his sportsmanship. He said his secret to being a good sport is, “I enjoy being with the horses and if you like being with horses than you treat them right,” he said. “We have great horses in our stable and by doing the right thing with our horses, we get good results.”

Gundersen, who moved his family to the United States in 2004 and operates a popular horse treadmill business in Wellington, said he is currently preparing one of his students for the season in Europe where they will do the Global Championship Tour. “The tour takes us to places like Monaco and the Grand Prix’s have very high prize money,” he said.

Heidi Zorn, President of Premier Equestrian, congratulated Gundersen on winning the Sportsmanship Award. “Henrik always has a smile on his face and it’s great to see him on the show grounds,” she said. Sponsored by Premier Equestrian, LLC, a leading supplier of dressage arenas, horse jumps, arena footing and stable accessories, the Premier Sportsmanship Award is presented to a barn or rider who displays a high level of sportsmanship during a show and the winner receives a gift certificate for $100 worth of Premier products.

Premier Equestrian offers a complete line of horse jumps and horse jumping equipment, including jump standards, gates, walls, jump cups, horse jump poles, sponsor jumps and cavaletti. “We have a great line of custom jumps and our clients really like the unlimited possibilities available to them when it comes to graphics, logos and imaging combinations on our custom jumps,” Zorn said.

Premier also offers arena footing and Zorn said, “Proper horse arena footing is a big issue and Premier has the answers to the most often asked questions when it comes to arena footing. Premier’s website offers extensive information to help horse owners understand the differences in horse arena footing.”

In addition to custom jumps and arena footing, Premier Equestrian offers a complete line of dressage arenas and dressage arena letters. For more information on all Premier Equestrian products visit their website at www.PremierEquestrian.com or call 800-611-6109
