Lexington, KY - Since 2005, Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the makers of Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), have been partnering with the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) to support a number of different programs and championships. In 2010, Adequan® will once again provide tremendous support to the equestrian sport as the title sponsor of the FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC).

These championships are the premiere equestrian competition for up-and-coming talent in North America. Young equestrian athletes between the ages of 14-21 will compete for team and individual FEI medals in the three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Eventing and Jumping and the World Equestrian Games discipline of Reining.

The 2010 NAJYRC will take place July 28-August 1, and will once again be held at the Kentucky Horse Park, which will host the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games later this year. Adequan® is very visible in the equine community and supports equine athletes at every level of competition.

"This opportunity to support our young riders makes sense as they are the future of the sport," states Allyn Mann, Sr. Manager of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc., makers of Adequan®. "The horses that these young riders compete on are valuable for both the short and long term goals of each individual rider. We want to help these riders achieve their dreams."

The only FEI Championship run annually in North America, many of the world's best equestrians who now regularly represent the US on Olympic, World Championship and Nations Cup teams got their first taste of International experience at NAJYRC. These include 2008 Olympians Karen O'Connor and McLain Ward.

"These Championships are vital to the growth of our High Performance programs," said John Long, USEF CEO. "These Championships showcase the best Junior and Young Riders on the continent and is a platform for those riders who will go on to represent the US in international competition. It is only through the valuable contributions of sponsors like Luitpold that these prestigious championships are possible. Luitpold's commitment to the USEF's programs is exceptional and we are excited about their continued support of the NAJYRC."
