The United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) National Hunter Classic is a program developed by the organization to give horse owners, riders, and trainers an opportunity to compete in an International Hunter Derby-like competition on a smaller scale. The events can serve as stepping stones for riders to gain experience toward competing in the International Hunter Derby.
The USHJA National Hunter Classic is a two-round hunter classic judged on performance, pace, style, quality, substance, movement and brilliance. A minimum of $2,500 prize money must be offered per class. The entry fee cannot exceed 5% of the prize money offered. For complete class specifications and rules, refer to
HU188-189 of the USEF Rule Book. For complete specifications and standings, visit the
USHJA Hunter Classic webpage.
