UPHA Chapter 5 Horse Show Showcases Several Breeds

Enthusiasts looking for an established multi-breed show need search no further...the United Professional Horsemen’s Association (UPHA) Chapter 5 Horse Show will be held on May 5-8, 2010, in the Hale Arena at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, MO.
This illustrious show began its 23-year history in May of 1987 under the guidance of some of Missouri’s finest horseman, including Art Simmons, Ron Hulse, Bill and Sonny Sutton, Jimmy Miller, Janet Green, Bev Cathcard, Barbara Baker, Bill Paschall, Will Skole and Mary Lou Funderburgh. The Show found its initial venue in Columbia, MO, at the Midway Exposition Center, where it immediately became an early spring favorite featuring Saddlebreds, Morgans, Hackneys and Arabians.
In 2009, the UPHA Chapter 5 Horse Show moved to its new location to allow the show to grow and become even more prestigious by featuring: a full Saddlebred schedule, an expanded Morgan schedule, Hackneys, Shetlands, Road Horses, and open opportunity classes. The Show also hosts Equitation classes in the following categories: Saddle Seat, Pleasure, Morgan Hunter Seat, and Morgan Western/Stock Seat.
Committed to giving back to a local cause, the UPHA Chapter 5 Horse Show dedicates proceeds from the show to the American Royal Therapeutic Riding Scholarship Fund; and Breast Cancer Research through its UPHA Pink Ribbon Classes and pitch a pig contests. The Chapter 5 Show is a member of the USEF, the American Morgan Horse Association Star Rating Competition Program, the Missouri Horse Shows Association, and the Pony Express Horse Show Circuit.
The show has maintained its early May competition dates, and its new venue provides a wonderful atmosphere for horses and exhibitors, and a Big City experience. Also something to consider is spring on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza is a real bonus.
