Curious About College Riding? There's an "Opp" for That

RELEASE: April 12, 2010
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By LA Pomeroy

On Saturday, May 8, during the 43rd annual Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, a question-and-answer session, sponsored by Campus Equestrian and featuring a panel of collegiate coaches ready to answer your questions about riding, horses, and college competition, will be offered immediately following the championship’s most anticipated hunter seat class of the year, the IHSA Cacchione Cup.

“This is a real opportunity, not only to watch our top college riders compete, but to also speak to the coaches who helped get them there,” said IHSA founder and executive director, Robert Cacchione.

For parents of college-bound teenagers who want to combine education and equestrian interests, the IHSA Nationals are one-stop shopping. In addition to the Ask The Coach panel, young people and families can see college equine programs in action, and talk with peers about finding the campus that’s right for them.

“Make all your college visits in one day,” said Steve Maxwell, owner and operator of Campus Equestrian and its news website, CampusEquestrian.com.

Even better—for those saving up for college tuition—admission to the coaches panel and 2010 IHSA National Championships is free within the Kentucky Horse Park. Admission into the Horse Park, which includes admission to the International Museum of the Horse, is $16 for adults, $8 for children ages 7-12, and free for children ages 6 and under. KHP parking is $5.00.

For more information about the Ask The Coaches panel, visit www.CampusEquestrian.com, or call (732) 589-0947. For more information about IHSA, visit their website, www.ihsainc.com, and find them on Facebook.
