Lexington Junior League Horse Show Adds Western Classes

The Junior League of Lexington is pleased to announce that Lenard Davenport of Springfield, MO, will serve as manager of the 74th Lexington Junior League Horse Show to be held at the Red Mile on July 5-10, 2010. Judges for the show are: Melissa A. Moore, Versailles, KY; Melinda Moore, Lawrenceburg, KY; Nelson Green, Nicholasville, KY; Dale Arnston, Mokena, IL and Mary Lynn Whitley, Cary, NC, USEF Steward.

We are also pleased to announce the inclusion of three Western Classes: Western Pleasure Open, Saddle & Bridle William Shatner Western Pleasure and ASB Western Pleasure Championship as well as the USEF Adult Amateur Medal class again this year.
General admission tickets may be purchased at the door for $5 Monday through Thursday, and $10 Friday and Saturday. Children six and under are admitted free.

The Lexington Junior League Horse Show is the first leg of the American Saddlebred Triple Crown, and has been selected again this year as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s “Top 20 Events for the Month of July 2010.” As the world’s largest outdoor Saddlebred horse show, it attracts over 30,000 spectators with out-of-town visitors generating approximately $10.4 million in revenue for the city of Lexington. Nearly 1,000 exhibitors travel from all over the world to compete for $70,000 in prize money. In addition to amazing horses, the show features unique shopping in the Gaited Gallery and events each night, including the Horse Show Gala on Friday, July 9, from 8:30-1:00 at the Round Barn located at the Red Mile. Tickets are $35 per person and tables for eight are $400. We look forward to seeing you at the show.
