Do you have a Horse for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Your Barn?

RELEASE: February 17, 2010
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: Joanie Morris

Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will field a Para-Equestrian Dressage Team for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG), and for the first time this world championship will be run concurrently with the seven other FEI disciplines.

This affords a very unique opportunity for US horse owners, as some Para-Equestrian athletes are in need of horses. This discipline is unique in that is allows the use of borrowed horses for riders, which allows more athletes the opportunity to compete.

Many countries will be seeking out horses for use in the upcoming months before the WEG begins in September. They will be looking for horses for riders in all five of the Para-Equestrian grades:

Grade IV
Grade III
Grade II
Grade Ia and Ib

A big moving, well behaved Prix St Georges horse would be suitable for a Grade IV rider with the training and ability perform correct simple changes, walk pirouettes, half pass trot and canter, collected, medium and extended canter with a clear difference.

The grade III riders will require a good moving horse with well established lateral movements, collection and medium in trot and canter and again good walk pirouettes.

Grade I and II is performed at the walk and trot but a Prix St Georges quality walk and trot would be ideal.
Anyone who has a horse available and is interested in participating in the WEG movement is encouraged to visit: www.USPEA.org where available horses will be listed. All arrangements will be made between the horse owner and the rider; this is a great opportunity to make horses available to potential international riders.

This is a chance to experience the WEG from the inside and be an owner of an international superstar that can change someone’s life.
