On-Site Schools at HITS Thermal and HITS Ocala Return for the 2010 Winter Circuits

RELEASE: December 31, 2009
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By the HITS Media Team

HITS is pleased to announce that its on-site schools will return to the HITS Desert Circuit and HITS Ocala Winter Circuit when show jumping begins at each venue this winter.

Education Station (HITS Ocala)
The Education Station at HITS Ocala has existed since 1992 and offers students an intimate 5-to-1 teacher-to-student ratio. Students are grouped according to subject and or age and professional teaching assistants will be on hand for one-on-one instruction.

"We are looking forward to another successful year with our students," said Patricia Struzzieri, Director of the Education Station at HITS Ocala. "It's always a pleasure to welcome back our students from past years. They pretty much grow up with us!"

Educational services will be available for the duration of the 2010 HITS Ocala Winter Circuit with convenient school hours on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The schedule allows students to study in the morning and ride in the afternoon. Deadline for applications is January 8, 2010. For more information on the Education Station, please contact Patricia Struzzieri at (845) 628-8722 or to register online visit www.HitsShows.com.

Show jumping returns to HITS Post Time Farm in Ocala, FL, for two consecutive weeks on Wednesday, January 20, with the Ocala January Classic followed by the Ocala January Festival on Wednesday, January 27. After a short break, the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit continues with six AA-rated weeks of competition on Tuesday, February 9, and runs until Sunday, March 21, when the $100,000 DeLuca Toyota Tundra Grand Prix, presented by Great American Insurance Group will close out the season. Entries for the January shows close on Wednesday, January 6, while entries for the six rated weeks close on Wednesday, January 20.

School Station (HITS Thermal)
The School Station at HITS Thermal offers a complete academic facility designed especially for equestrian families. The program stresses the academic curriculum of the student's local school. The classrooms are located on the show grounds with certified teachers and individual study programs for students in Kindergarten through college.

"I am so impressed with the students and equestrian riders," said Mary Cunning, who operates the School Station at HITS Thermal. "They work so hard and demonstrate such pride in their achievements."

Class at the School Station will begin during Desert Circuit I and run throughout the entirety of the 2010 HITS Desert Circuit. Deadline for applications is January 9, 2010. For more information on the HITS Thermal School Station, contact Mary Cunning at (802) 318-6924.

The HITS Desert Circuit begins on Tuesday, January 26, at the HITS Desert Horse Park, in Thermal, CA, and features six weeks of AA-rated show jumping that will run until Sunday, March 14, when the $300,000 Grand Prix of the Desert, presented by Pfizer Animal Health will close out the season. Entries for the HITS Desert Circuit must be received by Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
