Dressage riders Kassandra Barteau and Marco Bernal rode away winners at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby, both winning high score awards sponsored by Dressage Training Online. Barteau captured the USEF Level High Score and Bernal took home the FEI High Score CDI.
“We love the opportunity to recognize the horses and riders who excel at this prestigious show,” said Dressage Training Online founder Reisa Bonetti. “We know the commitment it takes to succeed at this level of competition.”
Barteau, who made the 27-hour-long drive from Illinois with three horses to compete in the Palm Beach Dressage Derby, was rewarded with a winning weekend. Barteau won the Dressage Training Online USEF Level High Score of the show with a 76.786% aboard Aliko in training level. She and Aliko also won the training level and first level high score of the show as well as the overall high score. Barteau continued her winning streak in the young rider team competition with Raymeister and a score of 66.474%.
Bernal is also no stranger to being in the ribbons, and winning the Dressage Training Online sponsored FEI High Score CDI with a score of 72.281% aboard Halbgott was the icing on the cake for his weekend. Bernal also won the Sho Clothes sponsored CDI Jog Turnout, the fourth jog win for the well-dressed rider this season.
While Bonetti was pleased to personally present the Dressage Training Online awards to Barteau and Bernal, she also attended the Palm Beach Dressage Derby to tape FEI classes for broadcast on DressageTrainingOnline.com. The FEI classes will include commentary from Judge Alex Steiner. “We offer members of DressageTrainingOnline.com the opportunity to better understand the judges perspectives by listening to their score-by-score commentary on tests they have judged,” Bonetti said, adding that Judge Uwe Mechlem, who judged at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby, also takes part in the “Judges View” on her innovative website.
DressageTrainingOnline.com has revolutionized the dressage world by giving riders the chance to learn from trainers and judges even if they aren’t able to attend a clinic or show. “It’s a great way for dressage riders to be present and learn, without having to be present at all,” Bonetti said.
Dressage Training Online and Steiner will team up again this month for The Dressage Affair in Del Mar, CA, where Steiner will conduct an educational series called “Learn at Lunch,” which is sponsored by Dressage Training Online and will be aired on the website in April.
