USEF Announces Approval of Kentucky Horse Park To Host 2009-2011 National Pony Championships

RELEASE: July 29, 2008
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By Stacey Meier

Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce that the USEF Executive Committee recently approved the Kentucky Horse Park as the host of the 2009-2011 USEF National Pony Championships (Pony Finals). The Kentucky Horse Park has successfully hosted Pony Finals for the last three years. The tentative show dates are August 5-9, 2009; August 11-15, 2010; and August 10-14, 2011.

Kentucky Horse Shows, LLC. submitted the bid for retaining Pony Finals at the Kentucky Horse Park which included a written statement from Executive Director John Nicholson confirming that construction for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will not be a factor for Pony Finals.

The Kentucky Horse Park is one of the premiere equestrian facilities in the United States and is centrally located in Lexington, KY. While at the Kentucky Horse Park, Pony Finals has grown thirty percent over the last three years, adding both riders and ponies.

For more information, please contact USEF Director of Hunter and Collegiate Activities Marion Maybank at (859) 225-2033 or via email at mmaybank@usef.org.
