USEF 2008 Outreach Grant Program Offers Financial Assistance to Breed Shows

RELEASE: March 12, 2008
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By Stacey Meier

Lexington, KY – With the 2008 competition season just beginning, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) recognizes that the rising cost of show expenses can often hinder breed shows. To assist competitions with expenses, the USEF offers the Outreach Grant program, which provides financial assistance to various USEF breed competitions.

The USEF grant program assists financially challenged breed competitions that meet the grant requirements and are approved by the USEF. The grants are available on a first come, first served basis, so applications should be submitted as soon as possible. The maximum grant is $1,000 per competition and the funds must be used for specific expenses, such as EMT’s, veterinarians, stewards, insurance, natural disasters and emergency officials.

Each grant request will be evaluated based on when it was received and on the proposed use of funds, which must be noted on the application along with the submission of the previous year’s financial statement. Each application will be reviewed by the USEF staff and the final decision for the grant approval will be made by the USEF Executive Office.

The Outreach Grant Program criteria and application are available on the USEF website at www.usef.org under the “Forms and Pubs” menu selection on the left side of the home page, then select “Breeds.” Or use this hyperlink:
