Author Tami Hoag Does it Again With Grand Prix Wins at Cool August Nights Dressage

RELEASE: September 6, 2007
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By Johnny Robb

Fresh from her dual grand prix wins at Sport Horse International, Tami Hoag and her mare, Feliki did it again...this time winning the grand prix and the grand prix freestyle at the recent Cool August Nights Dressage competition in Burbank, CA.

The pair won the grand prix musical freestyle on Friday night, August 24, under the lights during the “Dressage Goes to Rio Extravaganza.”

“Feliki was absolutely the best she's ever been,” said Hoag about Feliki’s performance. Several hundred spectators showed their appreciation by breaking into applause during Hoag’’s performance. Feliki’s smooth delivery of 20 one tempi's down the center line during the canter tour, and her pirouette in piaffe finale brought the crowd to their feet for a standing ovation. Hoag and Feliki not only won over the audience, they also won the class with a 68.75. The pair also came back the next day and won their grand prix class.

Hoag’s young mare, Fabia, also showed at Cool August Nights. “She was like the country mouse who comes to big city," said Hoag. But not to be overshadowed by Feliki, the wide- eyed Fabia won first place in two of her green horse third level classes. Fabia will continue to get more exposure and training this fall. Hoag plans to train with Fabia in Germany for a few months, before heading to Florida for the winter dressage circuit.

In the midst of showing and training in California and Europe, Hoag is working on her newest suspense novel. She has had 14 consecutive books on the New York Times Best Seller List.
