Farnam Equine Pharmaceuticals Supports Therapeutic Riding

RELEASE: June 28, 2007
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By Carrie Foote

For more than 20 years, horse owners have trusted Farnam Equine Pharmaceuticals for dependable deworming products for their horses. Now the name you know and trust is making a difference for children and adults with special needs by supporting a therapeutic riding program.

Through financial contributions and the donation of deworming products for therapy horses, Farnam helps America’s Horse Cares, a unique American Quarter Horse Foundation program that supports therapeutic riding centers across the country.

Therapeutic riding benefits individuals with disabilities in a number of ways:
· Riders learn balance, coordination and self-assurance while receiving therapeutic muscle stimulation
· As a result of carefully planned lessons, riders’ poise, posture, strength and flexibility improve
· A strong sense of responsibility develops as riders learn to take part in the care of horses and equipment
· Riding classes encourage confidence, self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment as new levels of expertise and new goals are met

“Supporting therapeutic riding is a cause we feel passionately about,” said Heather Hoff, Vice President, Farnam Equine Pharmaceuticals. “The lives of thousands of special needs individuals have been enriched by the benefits of therapeutic riding, and we are happy to become a part of that.”

Farnam encourages horse lovers to make a difference in one of three ways—a financial contribution, volunteering time or donating a therapy horse. Anyone interested in making a contribution or learning more about America’s Horse Cares may visit the Foundation’s webpage at www.aqha.com/foundation/therapeuticriding/americashorsecares.html or contact Veronica Almanza at the AQHA Foundation at (806) 378-5036, or email valmanza@aqha.org.

To further raise consumer awareness of this important program, and to say “Thank You” to horse owners for their loyalty, Farnam Equine Pharmaceuticals is launching the Horses Make a Difference Sweepstakes. The grand prize is an all-expense paid vacation for four in Jackson Hole, WY, for a full week of riding, rafting, fishing, hiking and more. Plus the winning family will have the opportunity to spend a day at a North American Riding for the Handicapped Association therapeutic riding facility.

Entry forms and complete details for the Horses Make a Difference Sweepstakes are available at participating Farnam dealers or visit www.farnamhorse.com and click on the “Promotions” tab. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Online entries must be received by midnight, Mountain Standard Time, September 30, 2007. Mailed-in entries must be received by Farnam by October, 15, 2007.

In addition, a sheet of colorful “Horses Make a Difference” temporary tattoos will be given with the purchase of any two doses of Farnam dewormers.

Over the past twenty years, Farnam Equine Pharmaceuticals has grown to become one of the most widely recognized names in the animal health products industry as a leading supplier of deworming products for horses.
