Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II Participates as a Member Show of Inaugural $80,000 Rider Bonus Program

RELEASE: June 7, 2007
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: By Phelps Media Group

Showplace Productions is pleased to announce that the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II horse show, held from June 19-24, at Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL, is part of the $80,000 Rider Bonus series. The highlight of the spring show is the $50,000 Wachovia Securities Grand Prix on Saturday, June 23, which will feature some of the best show jumpers in the Midwest. The Rider Bonus series is divided among three divisions from 12 participating Showplace Productions shows, including Leading Open Rider, Leading Junior/Amateur Owner Rider and Leading Children's/Adult Jumper Rider. The bonuses will be awarded at the 2007 Showplace Fall Classic Championship Horse Show, which will be held September 19-23. The top three riders in each division will receive the bonus based on the prize money won by their top-placed horse in the classic or grand prix of their division. "The main reason we started the Rider Bonus was to give back to the exhibitors and to raise the level of competition in the Midwest," explained Pat Boyle, manager of Showplace Productions. "Children's, juniors, adults and amateur divisions can be overlooked while the big grand prix riders chase their points, and the Rider Bonus keeps everyone in the running for year-end awards." Wachovia Securities, LLC, is the sponsor of the $50,000 Open Rider bonus, which will be awarded to the leading grand prix rider. Taylor Harris Insurance Services, Inc., is the sponsor of the Junior/Amateur Owner Rider bonus of $20,000, and Showplace Productions is the sponsor of the $10,000 Children's/Adult bonus. The participating shows include: —Lake St. Louis Spring, May 16-20; —Showplace Spring Classic, May 24-27; —Ledges Spring Classic, May 31-June 3; —Showplace Spring Spectacular, June 12-17; —Showplace Spring Spectacular II, June 19-24; —St. Louis Festival I, July 4-8; —Showplace Summertime, July 12-15; —Ledges Summertime, July 19-22; —Equifest I, August 1-5; —Equifest II, August 8-12; —Lake St. Louis Harvest September 5-9; and —St. Louis National September 12-16.
