No.7 Oklahoma State Takes Two in Delaware

RELEASE: February 2, 2014
AUTHOR/ADMINISTRATOR: Andrew Minnick

Dover, Del.
– The No.7 Oklahoma State Cowgirls kept up the momentum they’d created before the winter break with a very successful weekend trip to Delaware. The cowgirls earned a decisive win over hosts Delaware State, and an impressive decision over SEC power and NCEA No.2 ranked team Auburn.

OSU’s spring season got started on Friday, January 31st with the match against Delaware State. The Cowgirl hunter seat team earned a 9-1 win that included a sweep over fences. The western team dropped horsemanship 3-2, but earned a sweep of its own with a 5-0 win in reining. The final score was 16-4.

On Saturday, the Cowgirls traded blows (metaphorically) with the Tigers. Every matchup in this showdown ended with a 3-2 score. Though they were evenly matched, it was OSU earning the extra point in three of the disciplines. Dropping only reining, en route to an 11-9 win.
