Americans Alec Lawler & Agamemnon were one of five pairs from a field of 55 that were able to master round one of the Grand Prix de Megeve. The tough course challenged all horses with rails down and time faults the norm. The jump-off course was no less of a struggle. All five horses had rails down and of those five France's Michel Robert was the fastest with Nenuphar' Jac. They had one rail down for four faults in 41.53s. Lawler also had one rail down and with his time of 46.03s he and Agamemnon earned 2nd place.
Other U.S. riders in the Grand Prix de Megeve were Laura Kraut (23rd), Aimee Aron (26th), Alise Oken (36th), Paris Sellon (51st).
