Charlotte Jorst Celebrates Stellar Scores at Star Spangled Dressage And Welcomes a New Star at Home

RELEASE: July 1, 2013

Reno, NV - Charlotte Jorst celebrated a three-star show at Star Spangled Dressage in San Juan Capistrano, CA, this past weekend, posting stellar scores with Vitalis, Adventure and Wilkens. Another celebration awaited her at home in Reno, Nevada, as her daughter Camilla's Irish warmblood mare foaled a handsome stud colt sired by Charlotte's 9-year-old stallion Wilkens.

Vitalis, Charlotte's 6-year-old Dutch-bred and Westfalian-licensed stallion (above), rode away with the 6-year-old Markel/Cornerstone Young Talent Search Championship this weekend, posting a record-setting 90.714% in the finals class. "He was on fire!" Charlotte exclaimed.

No stranger to high scores, earlier this year Vitalis topped the national rankings with his 9.192 average score from the Markel/USEF Western Selection Trials for the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Dressage, and will be heading to Verden to represent the USA at the FEI World Breeding Championships, Verden, Germany, August 7-11, 2013.

Adventure, her 8-year-old black Dutch Warmblood gelding by Ferro son Special D, shined in Fourth Level, with scores from 70.714% through 75.000%, and scored 68.421% at Prix St. Georgse. Adventure's next outing will be the Markel/USEF National Developing Horse Prix St. Georges Championship presented by at Dressage at Lamplight, Wayne, Illinois, August 22-25, 2013.

Wilkens posted scores from 71.410% through 74.359% in his Third Level tests, although his starring role this weekend may have been as Wellington's sire. The eagerly awaited birth of Ava's baby (below), was c

"I am so excited for the future," Charlotte said Sunday night. "I'm looking forward to representing the USA in Verden with Vitalis, then competing Adventure at Lamplight, but going home is great, also, with a new foal to meet. I am so grateful for these horses and the opportunity to ride and show them, and for all the support from my family and friends."

Charlotte Jorst is a Danish-born American citizen whose ultimate goal is representing the USA in Olympic competition. She rides and competes out of her Skagen Stables in Reno, Nevada, where she juggles riding and training time with her business commitments: To Fossil, the world's largest watch company which recently purchased Skagen Designs, the worldwide brand of watches and accessories built over 23 years by Charlotte and her husband Henrik, and to her new business endeavor creating a line of stylish, cool, sun-protective clothing.

"This is a dream come true for me," Charlotte smiles, "and I couldn't be more excited about what comes next."elebrated by family and friends at an equine baby shower earlier this month, perhaps the first of many celebrations for Wellie in the coming years.
