Susan Dutta’s competitive highlights include numerous top placings at some of the nation’s most prestigious events in the Grand Prix, Freestyle, Open and Intermediaire divisions. In the first-ever Coupe des Ameriques in 2002 in Blainville, Canada, Dutta captured an Individual Gold, a Team Gold and a Team Bronze. Dutta was also part of the Team Gold medal-winning effort at the 2007 Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Dutta splits her time between Germany where she competes her Grand Prix horses and trains with Rudolf Zeilinger, and Wellington, FL, where her family resides. In late 2009, Dutta began making a name for herself in Europe with Currency DC, Manette DC and Golden Choice DC. All three horses racked up solid results, competing on the Sunshine Tour and in a handful of German shows in the spring. In May of this year, Currency DC, an Oldenburg gelding, was second in the Grand Prix Special at the CDI3* Hamburg Dressage Derby.
Dutta and Currency DC have been long-time partners, winning the USEF/Markel Young Horse Dressage National Six-Year-Old Championships in 2005. Since then the pair has been steadily rising through the ranks, competing in the Intermediaire I and Developing Horse classes and debuting at the Grand Prix level in early 2010.
Throughout the rest of the summer Dutta continued training with Zeilinger and competing at Pompadour and Vierzon in France the first two weeks of July.
Dutta and husband Tim own the Dutta Corporation, an international horse transportation business.
